i probably watch it 73 times each christmas season. it makes your innards glow with fuzzy gratitude.
and it's very G rated, except for that one scene in which george bailey is temporarily being a louse of a suitor and so in mary hatch's aggravation and disappointment she answers her gold digging mother's question of, "george bailey?! what's he want?!" with the uncharacteristically shocking, "he's making VIOlent love to me, mother!"
and remember that one time at the dinner table when we were on a movie quoting rampage and my naive 9 year old brother picked THAT line to throw out there at an amplified volume? the meaning of this line was surely, to him, a mystery, but quote it he did, and the rest of us fell silent and started gingerly scooting our broccoli around on our plates until probably elizabeth picked it up again with while you were sleeping's "i love y' new cologne!"
